Helena Ratka born and living in Hamburg, always trys to find a path between a visual and auditive expression. While studying film she started to make the music for her movies.

Parallel she started to Dj and work behind the Bar at Golden Pudel Club, hosting a regular Monday Club together with NIka Son called „next time“ where they invite musicians and contemporary artists to use the space and play. 

Thats where she also met Sophia Kennedy. They started to meet and make music together as Shari Vari releasing 'Life Should Be A Holiday' on it's in January 2017 and their album debut "NOW" on Malka Tuti in 2019.

As qp she released 'Spine' a tape on The Cosmic Cunt Clan in late 2017 and as Pose Dia her first album called "Front View" on Bureau B in 2020.

Her second album "Simulate Yourself" released 2023 on R.i.O.

Die Filmemacherin und Musikerin Helena Ratka hat an der HfbK in Hamburg Visuelle Kommunikation studiert. Während des Studiums fing sie an, im Golden Pudel Club aufzulegen und Soundtracks für ihre Filme zu schreiben und gründete und leitete von 2005-10 die Galerie „Pow“ in Altona mit Schwerpunkt auf interdisziplinären Kunstprojekten, sowie Konzerten, Lesungen und Filmabenden.

Die kuratorische und vernetzende Arbeit setzte sie mit Nika Breitaupt ab 2011 als Resident im Pudel Club unter dem Namen »Next Time« fort.

Seit 2005 realisierte sie verschiedene längere und kürzere Filmprojekte zwischen Dokumentation, Fiktion und Musik.

Ausserdem hat sie für diverse Inszenierungen u.a. am Thalia Theater Videoarbeiten gemacht und seit 2018 für Mirja Biel Theatermusik geschrieben.

Seit 2015 ist sie mit Sophia Kennedy zusammen »Shari Vari«, musikalisch zwischen Pop und Clubmusik angesiedelt und brachte 2019 Ihr erstes Album „NOW“ heraus. Als Pose Dia erscheint im Herbst 2020 ihr solo Debut auf Bureau B. 2023 erscheint ihr zweites Album "Simulate Yourself" auf R.i.O.
